In this month’s newsletter we feature ‘Quality’ – an excerpt from “Secrets of Success”. Perhaps almost as hard to define as it is to achieve, it is undeniably a ubiquitous requirement for sustainable success. As much for individuals as for large enterprises and is a golden thread connecting great excellence in the private and public sectors alike.
We offer some insight into the quandaries presented by entrepreneurship from an RBS facilitator Adam Rabinowitz. Ben Heunes, Head of Regenesys Centre for Finance, expounds the fundamentals of cash flow management and Sandra Perry’s 2nd column piece on Coaching and Mentoring delves into the premises on which the coach-coachee dialogue can be based, particularly in the context of workplace coaching.
We also remind you of some exciting events taking place this month. First up is an opportunity to get first-hand insight from industry and respected thought leader Judi Nwokedi on the 11th. For individuals interested in leadership and improving the quality of their own as well as the leadership potential of the wider community the fourth Authentic Dialogue Circle offers an opportunity to do just that in a friendly monthly gathering of like minded individuals. This month the topic of the circle moves into the subtle and sophisticated realm of technologies of self-mastery.
Have an excellent September
Everyone aspires to quality but very few are capable of delivering and sustaining it. Outstanding achievers strive for quality in all their endeavours, especially, to quote Henry Ford, “when no-one is looking.” Striving for quality requires a mindset of inner motivation, not an external locus of control.
Quality is a holistic concept that embodies all aspects of an organisation, from the humblest service to the highest strategic goals. Over the years, many quality management fads have come and gone, such as TQM, Batho Pele, quality circles, ISO, etc. Whatever the method adopted by an organisation, at the heart is a profound belief and commitment to the pursuit of excellence by all its people.
Quality is not something
to be pursued occasionally by a few, but an activity that requires continuous reflection and improvement by all. Eat, drink, think, dream, live quality – and success will follow. Awaken your potential knowing that everything you need is within you.

(The blessing/curse of entrepreneurship)
Many entrepreneurs I have dealt with are driven by their highly creative side. There’s a little compartment in the inner workings of their constantly active minds that never ceases to create. And it is this little section of the engine room that’s their blessing and their curse.
From my own experience with various audiences, most of the people I have had the pleasure of lecturing (about 98%) are driven by motivators that exclude the highly elusive and dangerous entrepreneurial factor.
Why is it that big companies with high turnover seldom have enough cash to pay the bills?
