Course Overview

The advanced project management course provides project managers with advanced skills, knowledge, techniques and models to manage complex and multiple projects. The project manager and project team members are equipped to manage the dynamic interrelationships of time, cost and quality. The following key processes are also examined in-depth: problem analysis and project identification, project planning, risk and resource management, procurement, tender and contract management, project implementation, monitoring and evaluation. This course draws mainly on PMBOK principles.

Learning outcomes

• Demonstrate an understanding of project processes, project scope management and project integration management in the context of private projects
• Demonstrate an understanding of project time management and project cost management in the context of private projects
• Demonstrate an understanding of project quality management and project human resources  management in the context of private projects
• Demonstrate an understanding of project communication management and project risk management in the context of private projects
• Demonstrate an understanding of project supply management and project management competencies in the context of private projects
• Identify and understand basic and advanced methods for evaluating public and private non-profit agencies and programs
• Understand and apply the skills and information to implementing various data collection systems
• Understand and apply the skills and information necessary to utilise expert panels, focus groups, and key stakeholders in program evaluation and policy analysis
• Understand and apply the skills and information necessary to provide relevant interpretation
• Presentation of information to stakeholders and policy makers
