Mr Khumalo is spot on with his comments - the West has had its day (and made a pretty good mess of the world, in the process) - and left Africa with a sad & troubled legacy. Africa needs to be genuinely embraced by Africans including the few white ones who see it as it is. In South Africa in particular we are failing dismally in too many areas of commerce and government - it's a big component of our legacy but somehow we are not addressing this reality - our priorities are all wrong and we have too many people in the country only concerned with addressing their own interests without understanding the long-term implications of our day-to-day decisions or lack thereof. Nevertheless, there is no doubt about the fact that Africa needs to define its identity, get its priorities right and develop a long-term strategy which identifies education as a number one priority.
