Welcome to the Regenesys Centre for Local Government (RCLG), a centre by local government practitioners for local government practitioners.

The Regenesys Centre for Local Government (RCLG), is located within the Regenesys School of Public Management, a private Higher Education Institution, accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE), and is located in Woodmead, Johannesburg.

The RCLG offers local government practitioners, both political and administrative, a one stop centre for local government with streamlined services in the following key areas:

Education and training – by ensuring that our learning programmes are relevant and customised for local government practitioners.

Mentoring and coaching – by promoting mutually beneficial coaching and mentoring relationships between the public and private sectors.

Research and technical services – by assisting local government practitioners in achieving the goal of accelerated service delivery through expert technical knowledge and skills.

Knowlege management, sharing and exchange – by awakening innovation in the workplace through knowledge sharing based on best practices.

RCLG recognises the immense challenges faced by local government and have aligned ourselves to provide solutions to the particular training needs, ensuring that our education and skills programmes are customised and relevant to the local government sector.

The RCLG, through its various areas of expertise, seeks to enhance the management and leadership capacity, knowledge and skills necessary to shift from service delivery to accelerated service delivery.

We match our extensively researched theory with practical work-based application and local government case studies to enhance work experience. We strive for best practice through innovation and knowledge sharing in the workplace.

Our attempt to address needs and challenges of local government institutions is primarily informed by the need to create synergy between individuals, their workplace, their community and society in general. All our programmes are located within the Regenesys Integrated Management Model, which demonstrates how the external environment, levels of an organisation, team and the components of an individual are interrelated in a dynamic and systemic way.
